What is Asian Glow or Asian Flush or alcohol Allergy?

All the terms, Asian Glow, Asian Flush, alcohol allergy are terms used to describe a condition with symptoms manifesting when the sufferer of the condition drinks alcohol.

These symptoms include red face, red blotches or patches on the body such as arms legs or chest, increased pulse rate, intense feeling of pressure in the head and congestion, dizziness, and nausea.

The basic cause of these symptoms is the sufferers body does not properly metabolize alcohol but instead processes it in a way that leaves toxins in the blood stream that build up to the point of producing the previously mentioned symptoms.

These symptoms are bothersome for 2 main reasons
Embarrassment, because of the bright red face which can make the sufferer feel self conscious in social situations, and the symptoms and be severe enough to interfere with the enjoyment of the alcoholic beverage.

Although not proven conclusively as of yet there is strong indication that sufferers of alcohol allergy, because of regular build up of the previously mentioned toxins, may be at higher risk for cancer of the esophagus and stomach.  So treatment of the condition is highly desirable for these reasons.
